The new and improved….

East coast road has always been a getaway for people who are tired of the monotonous city life. “East coast at the Madras Square” is an improved version of the Madras square and serves as a perfect getaway for the same. The calm surroundings, the enthralling ambiance and mouth watering food forms the perfect combination for an ultimate fine dining experience.

It’s located in Neelangarai, behind Hot Chips. The location pinned in their official Zomato profile is highly accurate and if you stick to the maps, you wouldn’t have any problem finding the place.

The entrance

The whole place has been divided into an eatery, a flower boutique and a spa center. They have an option of serving us either outdoors, indoors or veranda. My personal favorite was their lush green, couple friendly outdoor seatings but we chose to sit inside since we went to the place at 12 pm in the afternoon and you know….SUN! Hmph.

The cool interiors

We were extremely hungry and had requested the Chef to bring their signature vegetarian dishes. Here’s my view on their best vegetarian dishes. To know about their non veg delicacies, check out my fellow foodies’ experience ( Muskaan’s reviewVidhya’s reviewGopinath’s review)

1. Olive and Hummus Bruschetta (Rs. 200/-)

Golden brown garlic breads topped with olives and hummus. Olives and Hummus combines really well with the bread and it’s quite light.

2.Mozzarella and Tomato salad ( Rs.250/-)

Garden fresh tomatoes and cheese tastes really well with the green sauce. Basil adds the right kick.

3. Aglio E Olio pasta ( Rs. 300/-)

Spaghetti tossed in Olive oil and garnished with garlic, parsely. The oil gave a distinct flavor. It was delicious. AVOID if you don’t like your pasta oily.

4. Basil Walnut Pesto ( Rs. 300/-)

Classic is always the best. Thin crusted pizza with tomato based sauce with Cheese and Basil.  Absolutely divine.

6. Peach Iced Tea ( Rs. 120/-)

This is a picture of the tea when originally served. It lacked the peach flavour and I didn’t enjoy it.

The chef then added a few extra drops of the essence and VOILA!

7. Banoffee Pie

Biscuit base with banana, Toffee and whipped cream. It was so soft and the sugar wasn’t over powering.

8. Theobroma

Six layered beauty consisting of milk, dark, white chocolate, coca powder, coffee. Ah. My favourite dessert in East coast…..NO! In chennai!

Price :

Since it was an ‘On the house’ invite ( Thank you Mathangi and Muskaan), I can’t comment on the price but it’s approximately Rs.1500/- for two which is a steal deal given the serene ambiance, delicious food and mind blowing service.

Overall, I recommend you all to either take your partner for a romantic date or gate crash the place with your friends. I am sure you won’t regret nevertheless.
