I was bored one day (ie; forgot to take phone to the washroom) so I took my regular face wash and read it’s ingredients. I did the same with my Shampoo and I WAS PETRIFIED!  Just take your everyday soap and read the ingredients. Greek and Latin right? But the words like Paraben, artificial colors can be understood by laymen and they are scary. Some of them are even carcinogenic. I started getting worried for my skin and that’s when I came across  JUICY CHEMISTRY.

Juicy Chemistry is a 100 % Organic skin care brand based in Coimbatore. I was sent a few products by the Juicy Chemistry team to review and also bought a few products from an exhibition. I was more than happy to see the words ‘ORGANIC’ and ‘NATURAL’ written on the package. I gave myself a good one month to try and test the products and this review is purely personal and unbiased.

 

1. Mojito Lip Scrub ( Rs. 200/- for 10g)

My experience : Exfoliating is a crucial step for healthier lips  but we all take it for granted. The Mojito scented lip scrub has the typical grainy and greasy texture but it really made my lips soft and shiny.

Directions to use : Apply the scrub to your lips and massage it gently. Wash it off with cold water. Apply a nice lip butter/balm after wards.

When to use : Use twice a week for improved results.

2. Argan & Rose Day Serum (Rs. 350/- for 10 ml)

 

My experience : This is my favorite product from JC. I use this and ONLY this everyday in the morning as this contains natural SPF which protects our skin from both UVA and UVB rays.

Directions to use :  After washing your face, take 3-4 drops of the serum and apply it all over your face and neck. Give it a nice 10 minutes for it to get absorbed completely before stepping out in the Sun.

When to use : Every day

3. Cell Construction – Night Repair Serum   ( Rs. 350/- for 10 ml)

My experience : Pampering your face in the night is THE most essential step for a healthier  skin. The product claims that pigmentation and spots will reduce. My spots didn’t reduce but my skin felt super soft and healthy and I am satisfied with this product.

Directions to use :  After  removing your makeup and cleansing your face, take 3-4 drops of the serum and apply it all over your face and neck before bed time.

When to use : Every day

4. Grapefruit & Moringa body butter ( Rs.150 for 15g)

My experience :  Packed with lots of moisturizing oils, it is THE body butter for people with extremely dry skin. Since I have a normal skin, I used it regularly on certain dry areas like knees and elbows. It smelt amazing but it wasn’t the body butter for me.

Directions to use :  Apply all over the body right after a bath.

When to use : Every day

Skin type : Extremely Dry skin

5. Rose, Geranium & Saffron Soap ( Rs. 550/-for 100g)

My experience :  AH. THE SMELL I TELL YOU. Rich aromas of rose and saffron makes my skin smell super yummy. I use it mainly for my face in the morning and it leaves my skin feeling soft and supple.

Directions to use :  Apply all over damp body and your face and wash it off with cold water.

When to use : Every day

Skin type : Normal to Combination skin.

6. Sweet Orange & Mocha body mask ( Rs. 300/- for 35g)

My experience :  I couldn’t stop smelling this. I give myself a pat on my back for not eating it. This is a face and body mask which i use it as a face scrub due to it’s fine texture. This is extremely hydrating and hence suitable for DRY skin. Since I have a normal skin, I don’t prefer using this.

Directions to use :  Mix the powder with water/milk. Apply all over damp body and face. Leave it on for 10-15 mins and wash it off with cold water.

When to use : Once a week

Skin type : Dry skin
