I love Diwali. I love weddings. Why? quite the Obvious. Wearing a LBD or a Dungaree can never replace the feeling of wearing a long anarkali and some Jhumkas, Isn’t it? This time of the year when there is at least one wedding to attend to next month, we can always splurge on some quality Indian wear because other than Diwali, we would be repeating it multiple times on weddings, no? ( This is a subtle message to my mother, please ignore).
That’s when I had an opportunity to collaborate with a Chennai based designer called Preethi Fazel. Her brainchild is none other than Pleatz which has evolved in the past three years that from customizing bridal lehengas back in 2013, she has gone to making outfits for celebrities and also showcasing her bridal collection in India Runway week, 2016.
I scanned the whole store located in Mahalingapuram( Nungambakkam) and found two outfits which can be both a diwali & wedding guest outfit.
Chamathu ponnu look
I decided to pair this long, beautiful orange floor length anarkali with a bright pink Dupatta. If you know me, you know I always keep my accessories minimal. Just a statement Jhumkas, a watch and I am Diwali ready! Look for yourself.
Anarkali – Pleatz
Jhumkas – Bubbleogum
Watch – Tissot
I was in awe. The black sequined crop top and that Majenta pink & blood red skirt was a dream to me. I immediately imagined myself in the poster of Sonam Kapoor’s movie, Dolly ki dolli and my rocker Chic look is ready. This outfit can be a good reception outfit or an evening Diwali party outfit.
I added a black lace choker and a leather Jacket because what’s life without some drama?
Crop top and skirt – Pleatz
Leather Jacket – Veromoda
Choker – Bubbleogum
One thing I love about Pleatz is that, they cater to all crowd. Be it a bride or a brides maid, 5000 to 50,000, they have it all. I wanted to share some of my favourite work of Preethi from India Runway week, because if you are bride-to-be, YOU WILL LOVE IT.
I can keep adding more and more, but I’ll just wait for my next post with them. The next post would be even more interesting…Watch out!
