A survey shows that footwear is the first thing that 74% of the people subconsciously notice about you. But why does everyone look at the not so obvious feature, when you have so much more to offer them above…Hello, I meant makeup, accessories etc. Well, Science can only tell. But I can tell you one thing. If Footwear is being noticed the most, why don’t you rock them?
I came across this extremely chic brand called the Vasthra Chennai and I instantly fell in Love. A brand which has been flourishing for over 10 years is the creative child of Mrs. Gita and her team from Pondicherry. They design the footwear based on the current trend and it’s completely handcrafted. Marriage of Indian fabrics with the western techniques results in an intricately designed beauty, that is Vasthra for you.
I collaborated with this brand to show you two of my favourites from their latest collection which is debuting in The bazaar ( an exhibition happening in Humming room, Chennai on April 22nd). Two different looks, perfect for the summer.
THE BOHO PRINCESS
I found an Indigo and white footwear from Vasthra and imagined myself in a long white maxi in chunky silver jewellery, a flower band in a garden, sipping some tea. Minus the tea, RA photography ( Rahul and Anita) brought my concept into action. See for yourself
For the silver accessories, I chose a chunky statement neckpiece, handcuffs and finger rings all from my favourite BUBBLEOGUM.
Now, to the queen of this post – Footwear. I completed this effortless look with a simple yet classy footwear.

Vasthra had a typical red with golden detailed sandals and I wanted to style them oh so badly. I went completely Indian with it. A red and Orange Maxi dress, a checked golden Jhumkas, a typical maroon Bindi and of course, a red vasthra sandals complementing the freshly polished nails.
For the accessories, my friend gifted me this versatile golden Jhumkas which she bought from an exhibition in Mumbai.
The footwear can be worn with any Indian outfits. Perfect for a clumsy girl like me, you can walk around in sarees, maxis without tripping every 5 seconds and you would look HELLA STYLISH.

They are coming up with some gorgeous gladiator sandals, Ikkat ones ( shooo..only we know) and I would be styling them for you, really soon. Until then, shop their collection from their instagram page – https://www.instagram.com/vasthrachennai/ or buy it from Tamara, Chennai.
Also, I would like to thank Anita Kamaraj ( https://www.instagram.com/anitakamaraj/ ) and Rahul Ravindran ( https://www.instagram.com/rahulravindran/ ) from RA photography for dealing with my constant looking- to- the-right- side poses and bringing out the poser in me. Thank you guys.
