I am Confident, gutsy, fun, outgoing and yet rooted to my traditions and culture. I am a Chennai Ponnu. Yes, a true blue #Chennaiponnu! I might have been raised in a different country all together but that didn’t stop me from being not proud of my home land. This City is dynamic, selfless and extremely comfortable. Keeping this in mind, a popular Indian brand called HIMALAYA had come up with a campaign for all of us ( Ladies of Chennai) and introduced us to the Neem face care range via a flashmob in express avenue mall few weeks back.

 

I was approached by them to review their products under the #chennaiponnu campaign and there was no thinking. I immediately accepted. Only because, I don’t need a goodie bag to confess how amazing they were. But here’s me, taking one for the team and reviewing the goodie bag which was sent to me

 

Salon like experience for Rs.200!

 

I received a colourful box with a tshirt, jute bag, a keychain and a Salon. Hmphh, I meant a three-step-Facial consisting of a Neem face wash, a scrub and a face pack.

 

I used the neem kit about 4 times before I sat down to draft this post and my skin felt like a baby’s bum after every facial.

 

Step 1 : WASH

This slimy green face wash is perfect for those people with combination to oily skin. I unfortunately break out during summers and this face wash is the perfect counterpart to my rebellious seasonal pimples. Priced at Rs.60 for 50 ml, this makes up a very good every day face wash and step 1 of our Home facial.

USAGE: Everyday

STEP 2 : SCRUB

MY GOODNESS! This is my favourite part of the routine. The minute granules present in this scrub completely exfoliates my face and instantly makes my skin mega smooth and a bit shiny too. I completely recommend you guys to buy this and use it at least once a week along with the face wash and pack. The neem and Apricot scent which comes from the scrub is oddly satisfying. ok..moving on…

USAGE : 1-2 times a week.

STEP 3 : FACE PACK

This pack is made of turmeric, neem (duh) and Fuller’s earth. Fuller’s earth is like a clay powder which has the ability to completely absorb oil. Since I have a combination skin ( Normal + Oily T zone), it completely ripped my face’s natural oil and left my face completely dry. I had to lather on some lotion to feel myself again. But if your skin is extremely Oily, you will thank the lord above for this wonderful face pack. Overall, this was a very good finale to the facial.

USAGE : 1-2 times a week

So there you have it….a complete facial for just Rs.200! You can get himalaya products in any super markets or online beauty websites all over India. I have used Himalaya in Dubai and their composition is quite different, so please don’t consider this review universal.
