One of my most read blog post was the one titled, ‘ One dress. one million ways’ where I had styled a Little black dress in 5 different ways with the power of accessorizing. I decided to do something ethnic with a similar concept and look where it has landed me!
LBK. Yes, a Little black kurta. A black Kurta is something which is extremely versatile. You can wear it with literally anything and everything. Thanks to it’s neutral attributes, it will not look odd and you can dress it up/down based on your preference. Hence, a plain black kurta SHOULD be a staple piece in your wardrobe.
I decided to play around with this absolute necessary piece. I collaborated with one of my favorite online apparel and accessories store called DAIWIK and curated three basic looks which you can wear it to College, Office, temple or even for a lunch with your girls. There are seriously, a million ways to style a black kurta but I am sticking to just 3 looks for this blog post. My black kurta is from an outlet called INSTORE in Pondy bazaar, T nagar. I got this top for…….Rs. 399/-. Be jealous.
Punjabi kudi
The first look mimics a simple, punjabi urban girl. The black kurta when paired with this over sized jacket and these bright red patiala screams comfortable and those Afghani earrings just acts as the icing on the cake.

For this look, I decided to showcase Daiwik’s latest Kemp jewellery collection. They have some AMAZING drool worthy pieces and it would not be justified if a nice silk cotton Dupatta and some Moghra wasn’t paired to complete this look.

Too cool for school
This look is my personal favorite. That mustard yellow Dupatta with gorgeous embroidery and mirror work falls gracefully over my simple-sa-kurta and some blue-ish grey denim ( Ripped denim would have been better. since this look was created keeping college wear in mind, I substituted it to regular denim). Silver Jhumkas and a colourful boho bag completes the look and makes you too cool for school!
