Saree for the Millennium

Palam silks is known for its innovation in Kanjeevaram silk still keeping the traditional roots intact. Sunita Yogesh, a self taught designer came up with Folklore, a collection inspired by Indian architecture, paintings and other cultural aspects. She created 6 designs which are mind blowing and I am featuring two of my personal favorites in my blog.

Neon for Fall

Neon has been trending a little too much in the recent times. From Kim Kardashian to Blake lively to Bella Hadid, everyones been sporting the Highlighter green in their outfit. We Indians aren’t far behind. From the Iconic lime green Lehenga that Alia Bhatt wore for a reception or the Highlighter green Lehenga that Samantha Ruth Prabhu wore, we have been keeping up with the trend as well.

When I went to select the saree for my shoot, I literally dropped dead looking at this almost lime green, almost highlighter green. I immediately knew that I was going to style this with a bright orange choker and earrings ( you know my love for chokers). More about the jewelry in the succesive pictures. I paired it with a simple golden blouse but if you want to experiment more, you can get a hot pink or orange blouse. Will look kickass! I finished the look with Rambo – cutest white horse ever.

..As I was saying , I really wanted to accessorize my saree with a neon orange-ish choker and earrings. I knew @vaishalijewels was going to be the perfect choice because they completely customize looks for brides. I had a vision and Lavanya from @vaishalijewels truly brought it to life. Thanks a lot ❤️

The best part of this collaboration was that as soon as I posted a photo with this saree…a lot of my readers started digging their closet or gallery to find their neon green saree and started posting pictures with it. Some even ran to Palam silks because they wanted this Neon in their wardrobe ( I don’t blame them. It’s that beautiful). I am just so grateful.

HI, MODERN BRIDE

The second saree that I chose from Palam’s Folklore collection was love at first sight. You all know how much of a blue paithiyam I am 😛 This almost ink blue saree with a green border & silver zari was my pick. If I were to make a bride, I would definitely have this in my wedding trousseau. Just look at how rich and regal this is! Mr. Jim, the chocolate brown horse complemented the saree so well.

The Accessories played a major role in styling this outfit. I was wearing a tube top as blouse so I really needed to glam it up with Jewelry. Vaishali Jewellers gave me a stunning set which had Kundan and green stones. The green and the ink blue just married beautifully and completed the whole look.

So these two were my picks from Palam’s Folklore collection. Visit Palam store in Mylapore, T nagar or Anna nagar and get your hands on this collection because it is definitely a good addition to your to closet.

Special thanks to Akshaya from @poo.stories and Sneha from @snehamnj for being the best people ever.

Hope you guys enjoyed reading this post!

Until next time
